Objective of BIT
A recent study shows that despite the increased intakes in state sector Universities and private sector training organizations the demand for the IT professionals cannot be satisfactorily met. Shortage of IT professionals has become even more critical if the growth plans of IT sector companies are taken into account. The student intake to the state universities cannot be adequately increased to meet this demand, due to lack of physical infrastructure and human resources.
Cognizant of this gap in demand and supply, the Faculty of Information Technology launched a self-financed Undergraduate degree program in Information Technology, which was initially offered in the Distance and Open Learning Mode and at present delivering through Partner Organization for collaborative provision. Such a program can be offered to a large number of citizens in the country, at a reasonable cost,. It will also provide higher educational opportunities to those who could not have access to the higher education, though they were qualified to get higher education.
